Without further ado, much editing or any spell checking, here are the aggregated answers to this question from June of 2008:

Santa Coat. why everyone doesn't have one or make one is totally beyond me. fuzzy, fleecy, fabulous, machine washable, highly regarded costume piece with multiple deep pockets and warmer than a winter blanket. Totally Essential.

Earplugs, doctor bronners, and unscented john and johnson baby corn starch.

a little dust pan and broom to sweep up the dust in your tent, and a little area rug to put right in front so you can take off

your shoes before you go in..

Petroleum jelly, or something similar, to coat the inside of your nose, and Q-tips to apply it.

And it aids in AWESOME playa boogers that are easier to get out.

The only thing you need to bring is a baseball bat.

PBR

Lotion! (I got playa foot the first year)

Saline solution for your nose.

Avacados purchased HARD at the store on the way in.

Vinegar to mix with water for a foot bath, (then some lotion) and brand new socks (that are kept in their own ziplock until needed) to put on after.

Knee pads.

Dentil floss.

Baby wipes, cover for your bed (even if it is just a blanket that you can
remove just before you get in to a relatively playa-free bed) robe, BACON,
& little gifties that are not too small that they become moop!  Several stylin
hats, extra pairs of sunglasses, small bills for ice camp....oh i'm sure there
are tons more

Na-PCA for skin treatment

Biotene moutwash, non alcoholic (doesn't burn, cures most playa mouth)

5-HTP

Socks.

Straight Arrow Urea Care (or other similar powerful foot moisturizer for
cracked feet)

Lemon Juice concentrate for foul stored water taste

emergen-C

hairbands (like slayer or heart)

multivitamins, even if you don't usually take them.

pure salt ('medical/pharma grade') for making saline for gargling/hot

neti action on site.

good quality dried sausage that will keep in heat.

nothing with aspartame in it (turns partially to methanol at playa
temperatures)

hummus

tortilla chips

poly rope

energy bars.

knife

moleskin

carabiners to attach shit to your costume so you don't lose it.

vinegar for neutralizing playa on your skin (but the urea care will be

staggeringly more effective than vinegar on your feet.)

peanut butter with no ingredients but peanuts.

a collapsible cup of some sort.

sharpie markers.

toilet paper and put in a ziplock in your carry around. That way EVERY
potty has paper.

And make sure its single ply so you don't mess with the systems that have to deal with our shit after it leaves us.
No double ply, no handi-wipes.

Fancypants Funpants underwear, a fresh pair for every day and extras for extra changes - your butt just gets out on playa and you need freshies in a place like that.  Bring lots.

Tennis shoes or a pair of comfy boots - no netting, keep the sand out. it feels so good to wipe off your feet & put on a pair of fresh socks and tennies after a day in sandals/crocks.  (and duh, lots of pairs of clean sox)

Giant Furry coat.  Faux fur, or recycled fur or whatevers.  I was so happy I brought this.

Pickles.  They revive you.  Get the dilliest garlickyiest you can find. Also, Salty Salty chips.  NOM !

Fizzy non-alcoholic beverages (fizzy h20 or gingerale ROXOR)

Spray mister bottle thang.

SPRAY ON sunblock.

Headlamp

Bicycle

Oh yeah. Ziploc bags for your cooler.
Trust me, nothing is assnastier than sunblock-coated strawberries.
Except for sun chicken.

dry ice. ice cream on sunday. mochi on monday.

coleman extreme coolers, the good kind (7+ day)
